 FAQs

  • It is important to know that you are in the driver’s seat on your own path to healing. The answer to this question depends partly on what your therapeutic goals are, and how motivated you are to work toward them. Some people seek therapy to work through a current challenge and feel better after a few weeks, while others find success in having a consistent unbiased support system and choose to remain in therapy for much longer. In our first meeting we will discuss current or persistent challenges, personal history, and some goals you are hoping to work toward. We will work collaboratively to map out a plan so you have a better idea of what treatment schedule will set you up for the most success.

  • While I do my best to schedule sessions as soon as possible, I do not provide emergency/crisis services. If you are experiencing a crisis or fear you may harm yourself or others, please call 911 and go to the nearest Emergency Department. You may also contact the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or 988.

  • I am in network with Optum (which includes United Healthcare, United Behavioral Health, Connecticare, and Oxford plans), Aetna, Cigna, and Medicaid/Husky and considered an out-of-network provider for all other private insurances. Full payment is expected on the date of service, and I will provide a superbill (similar to a receipt) which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many insurance carriers reimburse up to 80% of out-of-pocket expenses, with the difference being comparable to a copay. I suggest you call your insurance company to inquire about your out-of-network benefits.

  • If you are choosing not to use insurance to cover services, the initial intake assessment is $200, and a standard 45-50 minute Individual Therapy session is $165.

I provide services at a reduced rate for highly motivated clients that would experience significant financial hardship with out-of-pocket expenses. Let’s chat about how we can make this work for you!

Per the No Surprises Act (HR133, Title 45 Section 149.610), providers are required to give a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of charges for all scheduled non-emergency services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you may dispute the bill.

Contact your provider before the scheduled date of service for a full GFE. For more information on the No Surprises Act, visit https://portal.ct.gov/CID/General-Consumer-Information/No-Surprises-Act
